Epilogue of Javaid Nama (Allama Iqbal)

Epilogue of Javaid Nama (Allama Iqbal)

This discourse which I have established, you may not attain anything from it
Since what exists in the bottom of heart cannot come out
Although I have exposed a hundred of points here
There is one point in my mind that cannot be described in word
If I explain it, it goes more complex
Because my voice and words make it more obscure
You must find it within my eyes/vision
Or find it within the woes of morning (prayers)

Waikh bandya! by Baba Bulleh Shah

Baba Bulleh Shah R.A
Baba Bulleh Shah R.A
Waikh bandya!
Asmaanan te ud’day panchi.
waikh te sehi ki karday ne.
na o karday rizq zakheera.
na o bhookay marday ne.
kadi kissay ne pankh pakheero.
phukay marday waikhey ne.
banday hi karday rizq zakheera.
banday hi phukkay marday ne.

Translation:
See, O Humans!!
The birds flying high in the skies
Just see what they do
Neither do they hoard their food
Nor do they starving die
Has anyone ever seen
Birds dying of hunger?
It’s humans who hoard
And humans who of hunger die.

Story of Hatim Tai, the Generous one (Sheikh Saadi Bostaan)

Hatim Tai was a pre-Islamic philanthropist and poet, known for his generosity. He is praised in Hadith as well as Bostan, the great work of Shaykh Saadi.

Shaykh Saadi narrate is Bostan that the King at the time of Hatim Tai became jealous when he heard of Hatim's generosity. He decided to test him and sent an ambassador to Hatim to ask his favourite horse.

When the ambassador arrived at Hatim's house, there was no food at the house. Hatim arranged to make sure the guest is served. After the dinner, Ambassador asked Hatim for his horse to trial him.

"My dear friend". Hatim replied. "I wish you have told me this at your arrival. Since there was no food at home, I asked my servants to slaughter my horse to feed you."

The ambassador went back to King empty handed and told the entire story. The King exclaimed, "Indeed! Only Hatim deserved the title of being the most generous."
