Idries Shah is acclaimed as one the most important writers on Sufism, who brought Oriental Mysticism to the the West. Afghan by ethnicity, he grew up in London. He has written three dozen critically acclaimed books on topics ranging from psychology and spirituality to travelogues and culture studies.
