Sufism is mytical dimension of Islam. Like any mystical dimension is hard to describe and can raise confusion or suspicion. Hence, rather than giving own definitions, we look at the core of Sufism beliefs in quotes of the most revered and influential Sufi master, Hazrat Jalaludin Mevlana Rumi, see http://ift.tt/2jzrvQI. **1. True Sufi goes beyond knowledge of books.** *The Man of God is drunk without wine.* *The Man of God is sated without meat.* *The Man of God is not of fire and water.* *The Man of God is a sea without a shore* *The Man of God is beyond faith and disbelief alike* *The Man of God is beyond merit and sin* **2. Sufis on Visible World** The world is frozen [jamood] in its nature. Wait till the rising of the sun of resurrection. Only then we would be able to see the movement of the World’s body. **3. Sufi on Worship** Mankind passes through three stages. First he worships anything: man, woman, money, children, earth and stones. Then, when he has progressed a little further, he worships God. Finally, he does not say: “I worship God; nor I do not worship God. He has passed from the first two stages into the last. **** **4. Sufi on discovering God** Cross and Christians, end to end, I examined. He was not on the Cross. I went to the Hindu Temple, to the ancient pagoda. In none of them there was any sign. To the heights of Herat I went and to Kandhar, I looked. He was not on the elevation not on the low lands. Resolutely I went to summit of the fabulous mountain of Ka’af. There was only the dwelling of the Anqa bird.I went to Kaaba at Mecca. He was not there. I asked him from Avicenna the philosopher. He was beyond the range of Avicenna, I looked into my own heart. In that place I saw him. He was in no other place. **** **8. On discovering Self (Khudi)** *Whenever the secrets of perception are taught to anyone* *His lips are sewn against speaking of the consciousness.* ** http://ift.tt/2i6QJWB

Sufi Short Story--An Old Man and a King One day, King Khosrow and his entourage went to hunt deer on the plains far in the central regions of Persia. The king was astonished when his entourage came upon an old man in his nineties, barely standing up, who was planting fig trees. “Don‟t you know it takes thirty years for fig trees to grow?” asked the king, “It is time for you to give thanks for your blessing of a long life and get ready for the other world.” The old man replied, “Our fathers planted fig trees and we ate figs from them. I am planting trees for those who will come after me and, by my good deed, I am getting ready for the other world.” The king ordered his prime minister to give a sack of gold to the old man. . ..... source : from the book Sufi tales from Attar to Rumi by Ali Kehyani..

When it is to describe the talents and influence of Allama Iqbal in Pakistan, it is hard to select words. Not only he was the greatest Urdu and Farsi of his era, but not a ordinary poet as he had immense political influence as he was the first person to present idea of Muslim State for South Asia. Also his poetry was not of romanticism or nightingale songs as seen in Classic poets such as Ghalib and Meer, but he was the Messenger of Khudi, who unleashed the secrets of self. TheSufi.com proudly present the Largest Collection of Kalam-e-Iqbal, which includes - Shikwa by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Pareshan Ho Ke Meri Khaak Aakhir By Muhammad Ali Shyhaki - Sitaron Say Aage by Sajjad Ali - Saqi Nama (Kalam Allama Iqbal) – Performed by Junoon - Yeh Gumbad E Minaee ( From Farsi Translation ) By Farida Khanum Download at http://ift.tt/2zqiQdC

Mera Piya Ghar Aaya is one of the most well-known poems of Bulleh Shah. Similar to Kalam of Hazrat Amir Khusrow which narrate Ishq e Haqiqi (superior love of Allah) in a way that seems like Ishq e Majazi. Mera Piya Ghar Aya is verse of happiness and boundless joy as lover meets his beloved. Download in voice of NFAK with lyrics below http://ift.tt/2zq8K9S Ghoongat Chuk Le Sajna is another such poem of Bulleh Shah that uses such style, which can be downloaded also. http://ift.tt/2yftEaC #bullehshah

Allama Iqbal had immense respect for Hazrat Baba Guru Nanik, the founder of Sikhism. Guru Nanik’s fundamental teaching was oneness of God [Tawheed]. Iqbal also shared his reverence for Buddha in his diary, Stray Reflections. Below poem is Allama’s beautiful tribute with English Translation to Baba Guru Nanik (بانگ درا) The nation did not pay heed to the message of Gotam; She never realised the true worth of her gem. Alas! they were unlucky to harken the real voice of the saint! As indeed the tree is unaware of the sweetness of its fruit. He disclosed the real secret of life; While India indulged in a pride of its contemplative thought. Her assembly was not Lit by the Light of divine lamp; The rain of divine grace fell; but her soil was no good; Alas! India is an abode of sorrow for a low-caste person; Surely, her heart is blunt to the sufferings of humanity. The Brahman is still proud of his vanity; While the candle of Gotam's teaching is burning in the assembly of others. The idol-house of India has once again become illuminated after a pretty long time; As if the house of Aazar is illuminated by the light of Abraham. Again, the voice of 'Tawheed' has arisen from the Panjab; And thus, a perfect man has awaken India from her dogmatic slumber. http://ift.tt/2y54CLd #allamaiqbal #gurunanik

Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary: These verses show us that Urdu poets revered the founder of Sikhism There is a rich tradition in Urdu literature of poems on the first guru of Sikhism, including a pairing with Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. “In every age your sufis Have appeared as prophets From Chishti and Nanak we have learnt The superiority of asceticism and freedom” “Sufi tere har daur mein Kaarte rahe paighambari Chishti o Nanak se mili Faqr-o-ghina ko bartari” “The wine that Chishti had poured is still in our goblets The teachings of Nanak are still echoing in our ears... Our beloved Bharat our nation is the loveliest of all nations” “Chishti ne jo dii thhi mai woh ab tak hai paimanon mein Nanak ki taalim abhi tak guunj rahi hai kaanon mein Bharat pyara desh hamara sab deshon se nyara hai” “How must the lamp of truth shed its radiance in the tyranny of life’s grossness The light snuffed from the world’s eyes is illuminated by the light of Nanak Neither is anyone pure nor impure, nor is anyone high or low It is the Guru’s tavern where everyone is served the wine of Nanak All differences are removed here and no trace of impurity remains This word of love, this state of knowledge, this throne of humanity, this name of Nanak” “To honour you is to honour all existence Guru Nanak Your luminosity illuminates every particle Guru Nanak Your estate endows the intoxication of enlightenment Guru Nanak Your writings are the summit of worshipping truth Guru Nanak Divine mercy streams down from your portrait Guru Nanak Is it your portrait or is it a replica of kindness Is it your portrait or is it an imprint of reality Is it your portrait or is it an evidence of nobility Is it your portrait or is it comfort for a troubled heart Divine mercy streams down from your portrait Guru Nanak” Read the full article here: http://ift.tt/2zd0Hjd
