Baba Nizamuddin Aulia R.A Love for Khusroo R.A About his love for Amir Khusro, Hazrat Nizamuddin used to say: "If Shariat permitted, I would have preferred to rest with Khusro in one and the same grave." So great was the attachment of the Pir to his mureed, he expressed in a Persian verse: “ If they put a saw upon my head and asked me to give up Khusro, I would prefer to give my head rather than to leave Khusro. ” When Hazrat Amir Khusro was not in Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya would write to him. Such letters expressive of the Sufi master's affection and love for his favourite disciple, who was addressed therein as Turkullah (God's Turk), were preserved by Hazrat Amir Khusro with great care. In accordance with the will of Hazrat Amir Khusro, the letters are said to have been buried along with him after his death. When Hazrat Amir Khusro attached himself to Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, he renounced whatever he possessed of worldly things. The master was so deeply attached to his mureed that he often prayed "O God, forgive me for the sake of the fire of love burning in the heart of this Turk."

When Ameer Khusrow was eight years old, his father took him to Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliyah. As his father was entering the Khanqah, Khusrow said that it was up to him and not his father to choose his Pir. His father left him outside the door. In the meantime, Khusrow composed a quatrain in Persian in order to test the spiritual capabilities of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliyah. Hazrat Amir Khusrow affirmed to himself that he would only become a murid of Hazrat Nizamuddin if a satisfactory answer was provided to the following quatrain: “Toa aan shahey ke bur aiwaan-e-qasrat Kabutar gar nashinad baaz gardad. Gharib-e-mustamandey bur dar amad, Beyayad androon yaa baaz gardad." "You are that great a king that, if on the roof of your grand palace a pigeon were to sit, it becomes a skylark. A poor and humble soul has come to your door, should he enter or should he go away?" Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliyah sent the following reply to Khusrow in the same form as the initial quatrain: “Beyayad androon mard-e-haqiqat Ke baa maa yak nafas hamraz gardad. Agar ablay buwad aan mard-e-naadaan, Azaan raahey ke aamad baaz gardad." "Do come in, oh truthful soul, so that we may become close and become trusted friends. But if you are ignorant and have no wisdom, then you better go back the way you came.” Hearing this, Khusrow decided that he has come to the right place and entered.

Tonight, 18 Shawwal, is the urs of Hazrat Ameer Khusrow. He was a Sufi musician, poet and scholar. He was an iconic figure in the cultural history of the Indian subcontinent. He is regarded as the "father of Qawwali" (a devotional music form of the Sufis in the Indian subcontinent), and introduced the ghazal style of song into India, both of which still exist widely in India and Pakistan. He was the most beloved murid of Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliah. His shrine is located in Nizamuddin Dargah, New Delhi, India. May we all get his blessings.

Death of Baba Farid's Pir Sahib... After Hazrat Baba Farid had settled down in Hansi, he had a dream where Hazrat Khwaja Qutbuddin had passed on. Perturbed by this dream, Baba Farid immediately left for Delhi where the death of his Pir was confirmed. On his arrival in Delhi, Qazi Hamiduddin Nagori handed over the sacred relies of his Pir to Baba Farid, according to the deceased's will, in the presence of a majils of leading dervishes. From this day (634 AH) the burden of India's spiritual leadership in the Chishtia Order fell upon the shoulders of Hazrat Khwaja Fariduddin Ganjshakar. During, 633-34 AH/1235 AD, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer also passed away. The political situation also changed after Sultan Shamsuddin Al-Tamish died after an exemplary rule of piety and justice. His daughter and successor, Razia Sultana was faced with fierce opposition and was eventually murdered after numerous wars. Hazrat Baba Farid thus shifted the centre of Chistia mission from the turmoil of Delhi to the peaceful seclusion of Ajodhan (Pakpattan). After remaining in a chilla in Ajmer for 40 days, where he seeked the spiritual blessings of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin for the success of his forthcoming mission, he proceeded to Ajodhan with his family. Hazrat Baba Farid said four questions were put to 700 saints and all of them gave the same reply. These questions were: i. Who is the wisest? "One who rejects the world," they replied. ii. Who is the most saintly? "One who does not get changed at everything." iii. Who is the richest and the wealthiest of all men? "One who is content." iv. Who is the most needy? "One who gives up contentment.','

Hazrat Omar Khayyam’s full name was Ghiyath al-Din Abu’l-Fath Umar ibn Ibrahim Al-Nisaburi al-Khayyami. A literal translation of the name al-Khayyami (or al-Khayyam) means tent man and this may have been the trade of Ibrahim his father. Khayyam played on the meaning of his own name when he wrote:- Khayyam, who stitched the tents of science, Has fallen in grief’s furnace and been suddenly burned, The shears of Fate have cut the tent ropes of his life, And the broker of Hope has sold him for nothing!

Great Sufi Saint Hazrat Yunus Emre R.A Let the deaf listen to the deaf. A soul is needed to understand them both. Without listening we understood. Without understanding we carried it out. On this Way, the seeker’s wealth is poverty. We loved, we became lovers. We were loved, we became the beloved. When all is perishing moment by moment Who has time to be bored? God divided His people into Seventy-two languages and borders arose. But poor Yunus fills the earth and sky, and under every stone hides a Moses
