"By God, I will never surrender to my enemies like a humiliated person and never pledge allegiance to them like slaves." - Imam Hussain R.A. As today begins the beginning of Muharam Al-Haraam, we remember Hussain Ibne Ali's martyrdowm, as the Karbala of our time, Gaza, remains in front of our eyes. #GazaGenocide #Gaza #FreePalestine

Hazrat Sultan Bahu R.A How lovely, how beautiful Your face! What coyness lies in those eyes and eyebrows! Once I saw Your countenance I could never become intimate with anyone else. I desire only You; I utter only Your name. I see but One, say but One, and want but One. On Your path, I have given up both head and soul, and could never take offense or turn away from Your direction. I embrace both Your grace and Your wrath: for me, Your harshness is sweet and pleasant. I have erased all traces of self from my heart’s slate, and in their place have inscribed, “Everything is He.” Through Your love I have forsaken self-existence and have become tranquil, no longer rushing in every direction. Whether You bestow light or not, all night and day our zekr will be this: “He is Hu.” ***Pooja Gaitonde sings Kalam Hazrat Sultan Bahu R.A click our website link: https://ift.tt/JwYGZDO

Hazrat Bayazid Bastami R.A “When I was young I thought and I said to God, and in all my prayers this was the base: ‘Give me energy so that I can change the whole world.’ Everybody looked wrong to me. I was a revolutionary and I wanted to change the face of the earth. “When I became a little more mature I started praying: ‘This seems to be too much. Life is going out of my hands–almost half of my life is gone and I have not changed a single person, and the whole world is too much.’ So I said to God, ‘My family will be enough. Let me change my family.’ “And when I became old,” says Bayazid, “I realized that even the family is too much, and who am I to change them? Then I realized that if I can change myself that will be enough, more than enough. I prayed to God, ‘Now I have come to the right point. At least allow me to do this: I would like to change myself.’ “God replied, ‘Now there is no time left. This you should have asked in the beginning. Then there was a possibility.’” ***Who is Bayazid Bastami? Click our website link: https://ift.tt/hb38jNR

Hazrat Baba Farid R.A disciple and successor, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya R.A, once spoke with his disciples about how Farid made sure he did not lose focus during his long separation from his pir. According to Nizamuddin, Farid invented for himself a kind of private recommitment ceremony. He had a garment of Sheikh Bakhtiyar Kaki R.A, presumably a personal gift from the sheikh. Keeping this garment with him, he would periodically take some time alone and solemnly re-state his oath of allegiance, the oath taken at the time of initiation. In this way he renewed and refreshed his connection with his pir. As Nizamuddin told his own disciples, Farid “renewed his allegiance to Sheikh Qutbuddin [Bakhtiyar Kaki] many times inthis fashion, and I have followed his example." In turn, Nizamuddin offered his disciples comforting reassurance for those who must spend extended periods of time away from their spiritual guide... ***For more about Sufism click our website link: www.thesufi.com

What is worship..... What is worship? Who are this man and this woman bringing flowers? What kinds of flowers should be brought, and what streamwater poured over the images? Real worship is done by the mind (Let that be a man) and by the desire (Let that be a woman). And let those two choose what to sacrifice. There is a liquid that can be released from under the mask of the face, a nectar which when it rushes down gives discipline and strength. Let that be your sacred pouring. Let your worship song be silence.... Lalla Ded Kashmiri ***For more about Sufism click our website link: www.thesufi.com

Dr. Allama Iqbal's belief follows Mualana Rumi's philsophy of preferring 'Baqaa' [persistance of being] instead of 'Fanaa' [Annihilation] whom he always called his spirtual mentor. Below verses by Maulana share the same thinking: بزیر کنگرہ کبریاش مردانند فرشتہ صید و پیمبر شکار و یزداں گیر مولانا رومی Beneath the station of God's absolute glory, there are people who can ensnare angels and His messengers, and have access to Allah Almighty Himself. In the forest of my passion, Hazrat Jibreel [Gabriel] is an easy prey. If you have the courage, capture God Himself, by develop divine qualities within yourself. #Rumi #sufi #iqbal

Mian Muhammad Baksh penned a famous poem, Saif-ul-Maluk. The gripping beauty of this poem cannot be done justice in this short essay, however I must quote one of my favorite lines: “Ik gunah mera maa-pe waikhan dewan des Nikalan lakh gunah mera Allah waikhay parday pawan aala.” Translation: “A single sin of mine, do my parents witness and they exile me from my lands. A thousand sins does my Allah witness the Veiler of all sins.” ***Mohammed Iqbal Bahu Sings Heer (Waris Shah) & Saif-ul-Mulook (Kalaam Mian Muhammad Bux) click our website link: https://ift.tt/NHuLO4s

The symbolism is explicit; Sohni is the seeker, her beloved is The Beloved (God) and the treacherous, tumultuous river is the dunya. The pot symbolizes the Law, the Path and the Shaykh- the conduit. One cannot expect to cross the river of deception with a weak conduit. Sohni laments to the pot: “how could you betray me like this?” and the pot replies: “Main garha, main khur jana, meinoun hath na lawaein- Pharh palra Pakkay Murshid da, jerha tenoun paar langaway.” Translation: “I am but a pot, unbaked and fragile, do not dare to touch me! Grab onto a true Shaykh, one that shall help you cross.“ *** Listen Kande Utte Meherma Ve is a beautiful Punjabi song, about a lover’s longing for beloved. Says Sheikh Farid, O my dear friend, attach yourself to the Lord; this body shall turn to dust, and its home shall be a neglected graveyard. You can meet the Lord today, O Sheikh Farid, if you restrain your bird-like desires which keep your mind in turmoil. If I had known that I was to die and not return again, I would not have ruined myself by cilnging to the world of falsehood. So speak the truth, in righteousness, and do not speak falsehood..... ***TUM IDHAR DEKH LO – KALAM BABA FARID – WADALI BROTHERS CLICK OUR WEBSITE LINK: https://ift.tt/YWjkB5s

Today's Birthday of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Sahib was a 14th-century Indian mystic poet-sant from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was a prominent figure in the Bhakti movement and his hymns are found in the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib. His teachings emphasized the equality of all people and the importance of love and compassion. Sant Ravidas Ji's teachings are still relevant today. They remind us that we are all equal in the eyes of God and that we should treat each other with love and respect. Raidas says, what shall I sing? Singing, singing I am defeated. How long shall I consider and proclaim: absorb the self into the Self? This experience is such, that it defies all description. I have met the Lord, Who can cause me harm? Hari in everything, everything in Hari – For him who knows Hari and the sense of self, no other testimony is needed: the knower is absorbed. *** For more about Sufism click our website link: www.thesufi.com
