Haji Ali R.A believed that serving humanity is one of the best ways to serve God. He dedicated his life to helping others and taught that one should strive to help the less fortunate, alleviate their suffering and work towards the betterment of society. Haji Ali is a famous mosque located in Mumbai, India. The mosque is named after Sayed Peer Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, a wealthy merchant from Uzbekistan who gave up all his material possessions and became a saint. The mosque was built in the 19th century, and it is located on a small islet off the coast of Worli in the Arabian Sea. The Haji Ali mosque is a major tourist attraction in Mumbai and is visited by people of all religions. The mosque is a beautiful example of Indo-Islamic architecture, with its white marble structure and domed roof. The main prayer hall can accommodate up to 10,000 worshippers at a time. One of the unique features of the Haji Ali mosque is that it is accessible only during low tide. During high tide, the causeway that connects the mosque to the mainland gets submerged under the water, making it impossible to reach the mosque. However, the mosque is accessible by boats at all times. www.thesufi.com
