Sufi Story of Amir Khusrou R.A and Bu Ali Qalandar R.A. One day Amir Khisroe requestedhis shaikh’s permission to visit Hazrat Bu Ali Qalandar in Panipat ashe intended to proceed to that town. Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliyagranted the permission. During his visit, Amir Khisroe was asked torecite his poetry. He recited a couplet: The whole city is full of handsome youths, but I am absorbed in my own Beloved; What can I do, my obstinate eyes refuse to look at any other beloved. This was well appreciated by Hazrat Qalandar who then recited someof his own poetry. After that he concentrated on him spiritually butAmir Khusroo could not bear the intensity of his concentration. Hewas about to swoon away when he felt a hand on his back and heregained his balance. On return to Delhi, he related what had happened, to which Hazrat Mahbub e Ilahi replied, “That hand wasmine. I have kept with me what you received there and I shall makeit over to you at a suitable time.” Hazrat then told us, “There wasonce a pupil of Hazrat Bu Ali called Mubariz Khan who was alsotreated as Amir Khusroo was treated, but he could not sustain theattention and died as a result. After that it became customary foranyone visiting the mazar of Hazrat Qalandar first to visit the mazarof Mubariz Khan. That is now also the practice for visiting the mazar of Hazrat Mahbub e Ilahi; but one has to visit the mazar of Hazrat AmirKhusroo first. Story of 3 Men who go stuck in Cave - Hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari 2215 The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "While three persons were walking, rain began to fall and they had to enter a cave in a mountain. A big rock rolled over and blocked the mouth of the cave. They said to each other, 'Invoke Allah with the best deed you have performed (so Allah might remove the rock)'. One of them said, 'O Allah! 1st Man said that My parents were old and I used to go out for grazing (my animals). On my return I would milk (the animals) and take the milk in a vessel to my parents to drink. After they had drunk from it, I would give it to my children, family and wife. One day I was delayed and on my return I found my parents sleeping, and I disliked to wake them up. The children were crying at my feet (because of hunger) but I waited till dawn to gave them milk, before feeding else. O Allah! If You regard that I did it for Your sake, then please remove this rock so that we may see the sky.' So, the rock was moved a bit. The 2nd said, 'O Allah! You know that I was in love with a cousin of mine, like the deepest love a man may have for a woman, and she told me that I would not get my desire fulfilled unless I paid her one-hundred Dinars (gold pieces). So, I struggled for it till I gathered the desired amount, and when I sat in between her legs, she told me to be afraid of Allah, and asked me not to deflower her except rightfully (by marriage). So, I got up and left her. O Allah! If You regard that I did if for Your sake, kindly remove this rock.' So, two-thirds of the rock was removed. Then the 3rd man said, 'O Allah! No doubt You know that once I employed a worker for one Faraq (three Sa's) of millet, and when I wanted to pay him, he refused to take it, so I sowed it and from its yield I bought cows and a shepherd. After a time that man came and demanded his money. I said to him: Go to those cows and the shepherd and take them for they are for you. He asked me whether I was joking with him. I told him that I was not joking with him, and all that belonged to him. O Allah! If You regard that I did it sincerely for Your sake, then please remove the rock.' So, the rock was removed completely from the mouth of the cave."

Why Hazrat Abu Bakr read quietly and Hazrat Umar loudly - From Hazrat Ali Hajvairi's Kashf ul Majoob When Abu Bakr prayed at night he used to recite the Quran in a low voice, whereas Hazrat Umar used to recite in a loud voice. Prophet S.A.W asked Abu Bakr and Umar why he did this. Abu Bakr replied: "He with whom I converse will hear." Umar, in his turn, replied: "I wake the drowsy and drive away the Devil". The one gave a token of inner contemplation, the other of external purification. Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya R.A used to say, "Dervishhood consists of three elements: first every visitor should be greeted with peace (salam); then he should be served food; then only should one engage in storytelling or spiritual conversation." About food arrangements, Raja Hardev says, "The langar (refectory) was kept spotlessly clean. People were served food in separate plates. Once, some travellers objected to the provision of separate plates, describing it as a departure from the Muslim custom of eating from the same platter. Hazrat Amir Khusrou R.A and Hazrat Bu Ali Qalandar R.A One day Amir Khusrou requested his shaikh’s permission to visit Hazrat Bu Ali Qalandar in Panipat as he intended to proceed to that town. Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya granted the permission. During his visit, Amir Khusrou was asked to recite his poetry. He recited a couplet: The whole city is full of handsome youths, but I am absorbed in my own Beloved; What can I do, my obstinate eyes refuse to look at anyother beloved... This was well appreciated by Hazrat Qalandar who then recited some of his own poetry. After that he concentrated on him spiritually but Amir Khusrou could not bear the intensity of his concentration. Hewas about to swoon away when he felt a hand on his back and heregained his balance. On return to Delhi, he related what had happened, to which Hazrat Mahbub e Ilahi replied, “That hand was mine. I have kept with me what you received there and I shall makeit over to you at a suitable time.” Hazrat then told us, “There was once a pupil of Hazrat Bu Ali called Mubariz Khan who was also treated as Amir Khusrou was treated, but he could not sustain the attention and died as a result. After that it became customary for anyone visiting the mazar of Hazrat Qalandar first to visit the mazar of Mubariz Khan. That is now also the practice for visiting the mazar of Hazrat Mahbub Ilahi; but one has to visit the mazar of Hazrat Amir Khusrou first. Hazrat Mahbub e Ilahi used to say, “When God asks me what I had brought for Him, I should be able to say that I had, forHim, the ‘throbbings of Amir Khusrou’s heart’; thus the secret is that by a prior visit to Amir Khusrou’s mazar one gains the heart’s throbbing to enable him to receive full faizan (beneficence) from Hazrat Mahbub e Ilahi R.A.
