Shaykh Faridudin Masud Ganj-e-Shakar, popularly called Baba Farid, was mentored by Hazrat Khawaja Bakhtiar Kaki of Delhi. Baba Farid is known for his Punjabi Sufi Poetry, which is highly revered by Muslims and Sikhs alike. Baba Farid used to fast almost everyday due to which his body became weak. One day in state of weakness he put a few pebbles in his mouth, which became Sugar. That's why is called Ganj-e-Shakar. His shrine is at Pak Pattan. Here is some Punjabi Poetry by Baba Farid (see picture) "O Crow! You have eaten every bit of flesh from my Skeleton.
