Hazrat Sultan Bahu R.A How lovely, how beautiful Your face! What coyness lies in those eyes and eyebrows! Once I saw Your countenance I could never become intimate with anyone else. I desire only You; I utter only Your name. I see but One, say but One, and want but One. On Your path, I have given up both head and soul, and could never take offense or turn away from Your direction. I embrace both Your grace and Your wrath: for me, Your harshness is sweet and pleasant. I have erased all traces of self from my heart’s slate, and in their place have inscribed, “Everything is He.” Through Your love I have forsaken self-existence and have become tranquil, no longer rushing in every direction. Whether You bestow light or not, all night and day our zekr will be this: “He is Hu.” ***Pooja Gaitonde sings Kalam Hazrat Sultan Bahu R.A click our website link: https://ift.tt/JwYGZDO

Hazrat Bayazid Bastami R.A “When I was young I thought and I said to God, and in all my prayers this was the base: ‘Give me energy so that I can change the whole world.’ Everybody looked wrong to me. I was a revolutionary and I wanted to change the face of the earth. “When I became a little more mature I started praying: ‘This seems to be too much. Life is going out of my hands–almost half of my life is gone and I have not changed a single person, and the whole world is too much.’ So I said to God, ‘My family will be enough. Let me change my family.’ “And when I became old,” says Bayazid, “I realized that even the family is too much, and who am I to change them? Then I realized that if I can change myself that will be enough, more than enough. I prayed to God, ‘Now I have come to the right point. At least allow me to do this: I would like to change myself.’ “God replied, ‘Now there is no time left. This you should have asked in the beginning. Then there was a possibility.’” ***Who is Bayazid Bastami? Click our website link: https://ift.tt/hb38jNR

Hazrat Baba Farid R.A disciple and successor, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya R.A, once spoke with his disciples about how Farid made sure he did not lose focus during his long separation from his pir. According to Nizamuddin, Farid invented for himself a kind of private recommitment ceremony. He had a garment of Sheikh Bakhtiyar Kaki R.A, presumably a personal gift from the sheikh. Keeping this garment with him, he would periodically take some time alone and solemnly re-state his oath of allegiance, the oath taken at the time of initiation. In this way he renewed and refreshed his connection with his pir. As Nizamuddin told his own disciples, Farid “renewed his allegiance to Sheikh Qutbuddin [Bakhtiyar Kaki] many times inthis fashion, and I have followed his example." In turn, Nizamuddin offered his disciples comforting reassurance for those who must spend extended periods of time away from their spiritual guide... ***For more about Sufism click our website link: www.thesufi.com
