During a personal tour to Mevlana Rumi’s Mausoleum (Mevlana Museum) in Dec 2010, I observed an honorary resting place for Rumi’s greatest protege from South Asia. Although Allama actual grave is of course situated between Badahahi Mosque and Shahi Qila Lahore, it was amazing to remember Allama while visiting Mevlana Rumi. The epitaph translates as ‘An honorary resting place for Muhammad Iqbal, a protege of our dear master’. http://ift.tt/2xBvci4 #rumi #iqbal #allamaiqbal

Kalam e Mirza Ghalib Hooey Marr Ke Hum Jo Rusava, Hooey Kyon Na Gharq-E-Dariya Na Kabhi Janaza Uthata, Na Kaheen Mazaar Hota Ye Naa Thi Hamaari Qismat Ke Visaal e Yaar Hota Agar Aur Jeetay Rehtey Yahi Intezar Hota If we die in oblivion, if die drowning in river We wont have a funeral, neither a shrine anywhere It was never my destiny to meet my beloved. Even I had more years of life, I would have been still awaiting for beloved. Ye Naa Thi Hamaari Qismat remains of the most popular ghazals of Mirza Ghalib, because of its very simple Urdu verses [yet with deep meaning]. Another reasons for popularity is the exceptional singing of Jagjit and Chitra Singh in Mirza Ghalib which touched millions of poetry lovers across the world. In Javid Nama in the course of their celestial pilgrimage Rumi and Iqbal meet the spirit of Mansoor Hallaj in the sphere of Jupiter. Here Hallaj sings the song: “Seek from your own day a fire as yet unseen To borrow fire from another is unworthy of you He who is yet unslain belongs not to our tribe." Iqbal puts Hallaj the question as to why he did not stay in the Jannat [paradise]. Hallaj replies: "The free man who knows good and evil, His spirit cannot be contained in paradise. The paradise of the Mullah is wine, houris, and pageboys, The paradise of free men is eternal voyaging. The mullah's paradise is eating and sleeping and drinking. The lover's paradise is the contemplation of Being. The mullah's resurrection is the splitting of the tomb and the trumpet's blast. For free man tumultuous love is itself the dawn of resurrection".
